Anxiety
Due to factors outside our control, stressors that affect the body every second of every day can begin to overload the body as well as the brain's capacity to manage them. When this happens a person's internal bio-rhythms are thrown off causing their brainwaves to become abnormal. Overstimulation is often the result. Often found in people suffering from anxiety, this process has the capacity to cause the brain to behave in an irregular manner, magnifying the stressors of daily life. BrainCore Neurofeedback is shown to normalize brainwaves in individuals struggling with anxiety.
Isn't it Time to Explore Another Way? Medications aren’t actually correcting the problem, they only treat the symptoms.
How is Anxiety Usually Treated?
Anxiety is often treated by medical professionals by prescribing anti-depressants(SSRIs). These medications help stimulate the production of serotonin, causing the patient to “feel good”. But temporarily feeling good and having balanced mental health are not always the same. In the end, relying solely on medication leaves the root of the problem untreated.
Problems With Anxiety Medication
Medications can be very effective in the short term but they do not remedy the root problem. Sometimes medication, especially long term use of it, can start to cause abnormal brainwave patterns in an individual leading to new or amplified symptoms. The patient then needs stronger or more varied types of medications. This terrible cycle is what is called a negative loop.
Can Neurofeedback Help?
Neurofeedback is also known as EEG Biofeedback. This process re-trains the brain in a manner that is shown to normalize brainwaves allowing the client to see lasting long-term positive effects.
